ASSOCIATION "BIG BAND ŚLĄSKI"
? The 3rd International Big Band Workshops are a unique educational and artistic event dedicated to instrumentalists of all ages and skill levels.

Participants will work through:

individual lessons,

section rehearsals,

ensemble classes,

and full big band sessions,

developing their skills in improvisation, rhythm, and jazz repertoire interpretation.

We invite musicians playing:
piano, guitar, bass guitar/double bass, saxophones, flute, clarinet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and trumpet.

Special Guests – Final Concert Soloists:
? Urszula Dudziak – internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist
? Aga Zaryan – award-winning Polish jazz singer
? Luis Diego Bonilla – world-class jazz trombonist and composer
?? Anthony Strong – British jazz singer and pianist
? Joel Barford – young British jazz drummer

He will conduct individual trombone and euphonium lessons, section rehearsals, big band orchestra classes, conducting workshops, and preparation for the final concert featuring workshop participants and faculty members.

WORKSHOP REGULATIONS/

Organizational goals of the International Big Band Workshops:

1. Music workshops aim to provide opportunities to develop musical passions and skills.

2. Creating and disseminating musical culture, with adapted areas related to pop music, jazz and related genres;

3. Promoting attention in the environment due to the use of listening to music in sources and communities with a level of cultural activity and limited or difficult access to broadly understood culture.

4. Working on jazz music, orchestral music based on the composition of the Big Band jazz orchestra, recreational orchestra and taking care of its artistic level properties;

5. Popularization of pop music, jazz and related genres in the country and abroad through participation in concerts and music workshops.

6. Cooperation of a national nature and within the scope of culture and music education;

7. Promotion and activity with the generation of electricity in the country and abroad;
8. Maintaining and using national traditions, recognizing Polish musical heritage, developing national, civic and cultural awareness;
9. Cooperation with domestic and world cultural animals, organizations leading to use, being members and physical, schools, universities, enterprises and government intermediate from cultural life with detailed application of jazz pop music and its related genres.
10. The purpose of the events is to organize master championships, rides and open-air events, which served to achieve academic skills, students, graduates of graduates and art schools and all members of musicians from Poland and abroad, as well as supporting the connection of traditions originating from mining brass bands, i.e. the connection of musicians in multi-generational orchestras.

Conditions of operation:
1. Participation in music workshops is mechanical.
2. The participant must be 18 years old or have the owner of parents or legal guardians (responsibility card). The terms of validity are in accordance with the provisions of the application, acceptance of the regulations, application of the provisions of the GDPR, consent to the publication of the image, and the notifications met/sent by the organizer.
3. Organizer's liability:
The organizer of music bands is obliged to provide technical and organizational conditions.
4. The following are prohibited:
a) Use of drugs, narcotics and other intoxicants during storage;
b) Violation of the provisions of the law during the conduct of business;
c) Behavior that violates good manners, aggressive or inappropriate to the situation.

The organizer has the right to send the event away from the festival on the first date, in which the event violating the regulations is included. In a situation where the organizer does not cover the costs of transport home. In the case of minors, the parent/legal guardian must send
the event away from the festival venue.
5. The participant, or in the case of minors their legal guardian, shall bear legal and financial responsibility for any damage caused by the participant, including damage to equipment, instruments, property, and the Łaźnia Moszczenica facility where the International Big Band Workshops are held.

6. Applications and withdrawals:
The application should be submitted electronically via the organizer's e-mail address (kontakt@bigbandslaski.com.pl), in the case of an entry fee, it is non-refundable.

The parent/legal guardian of a minor participant is sent a scan of the responsibility card and the original document by e-mail or on the day of arrival at the workshops. Failure to top up the cards or not bringing the responsibility card to the festival is tantamount to an obligation to participate in the festival.

7. The participant or their legal guardian grants consent to the free-of-charge use of the participant’s/child’s image captured during the International Big Band Workshops, in particular through photography and video recording of classes and concerts organized as part of the workshops. At the same time, the participant or their legal guardian agrees to participate in the free final concert of the workshop participants, which will take place on August 23, 2026.

8. Final provisions:
Music regulations are an integral part of the application for performing in the workshops and are subject to the provisions of Polish law.

9. In the event that all accommodation capacity at the Dąbrówka Complex is fully occupied, the organizer reserves the right to accommodate participants at the “Dom Retro Piwnia” facility, located at 15 Karola Miarki Street, 44-330 Jastrzębie-Zdrój.

10.It is necessary to replace the printer, cable, scanners and power supplies that were damaged.

3rd International Big Band Workshops

During the workshops, individual lessons will be held for the following instruments: piano, guitar, double bass / bass guitar, drums, saxophones, flute, clarinet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, trumpet ,flugelhorn

Big Band orchestra rehearsals, sectional rehearsals ,small jazz ensemble classes

Roch Siciński, journalist from Polish Radio Channel Two, will host the final concerts and give a lecture entitled: “I Have a Band – What Next? Relationships Between Artists, Record Labels, Media, Concert Organizers and Festivals. How to Enter the Jazz Market.”

Ms. Urszula Dudziak and Aga Zaryan are special guests of the final concert of the International Big Band Workshops. Their participation is of an artistic and honorary nature — they do not conduct vocal classes or workshops as part of the event.

The event partner is Hotel Kompleks Dąbrówka, located approximately 1000 meters from Łaźnia Moszczenica.
