Lucie Vobr is an artist specializing in Chinese painting, calligraphy, and other visual arts. She studied Chinese painting and calligraphy during her time abroad at a university in Taiwan, where she underwent intensive training in traditional techniques at the Faculty of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy.

In 2023, she was selected for the Taipei Artist Village residency program, where she created a unique exhibition—a labyrinth of ink paintings designed specifically for the gallery space.

Lucie holds a degree in sculpture from UMPRUM and new media from the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art (Sutnarka). Currently, she works as a freelance artist and teaches at the Academy of Light in Světlá nad Sázavou. Her classes in Chinese painting and calligraphy combine deep technical knowledge, respect for tradition, and an inspiring approach to personal creativity.

Workshop Overview
During the evening, participants will be introduced to the philosophy and aesthetics of traditional ink painting. The session includes:
Brush handling techniques and practicing different brush strokes through painting bamboo—one of the key motifs in Chinese painting.
✍ Calligraphy basics, where participants will learn fundamental character-writing techniques.
Take-home artwork – each participant will leave with their own calligraphic scroll and a bamboo painting as a keepsake from an inspiring evening.
